Description
A Sanctified Remembrance: With warmth, humour and poignancy, Christine Farenhorst invites readers to step into the love story she shared with her late husband.
Faith and loss mingle in this heartfelt memoir, filled with snapshots of a happy marriage and family life, interspersed with biblical reflections on the character and goodness of God, even amidst grief.
Christine Farenhorst’s skill with the pen shines through as she reflects on the almost fifty–three years she shared with Anco, from their first meeting to his final moments. Her grief is evident, but so is her hope in Christ and her knowledge that true life is found in Him.
With humorous moments, these warm–hearted reflections will be a balm to anyone suffering through grief.

… a book full of the ups–and–downs of mourning and will be a great blessing for mourners, but it is also a book of depth that will plunge you into self–examination and drive you to Christ.

It is obvious that Christine grieves deeply, but she does not do so without hope. These pages point to the fact that life on this earth may be short BUT eternity is unending!

I hope the writing was as helpful and healing for Christine, as it was helpful for me in dealing with the recent loss of my father and mother. I think it will benefit others too, and they too will be “Upheld.”
Al Bezuyen
Pastor, Zion United Reformed Church, Sheffield, Ontario
This is the most readable book I have held in my hands for many years. It is a page turner, a book without cliches, full of pathos as well as humor – I chuckled aloud often as I read some of it, and also had a lump in my throat as I read other parts, quite un–put–down–able.
