This week we have several bloggers participating in a book review blog tour for The Ascension: Humanity in the Presence of God by Tim Chester & Jonny Woodrow. Links to the reviews will appear below as they are available:
"Understanding Christ as the Ascended Priest, King, and Man are three important elements of understanding Christology at large and understanding Scripture at large as well. Chester and Woodrow do an excellent job in a short amount of space examining these topics using Scripture as a clear foundation. For anyone desiring to get a foundational understanding of this topic, this book is for you. It will whet your appetite to further study Christ as Priest, King, and Man, the One who is seated with all power and authority at the right hand of the Father."Reviewer: Michael Boling (intelmin.org)

"Overall, this little book (96 pages) packs a punch. It is concise, but the authors present some weighty truths with clarity and precision... Due to the contemporary obfuscation of the doctrine of Christ’s ascension and exaltation, this is a much-needed and welcome book that will comfort and encourage believers, and inform them of the necessity and sufficiency of our Savior’s authoritative session-ministry."Reviewer: Timothy Harris (activedidactic.wordpress.com)

"At ninety-four pages, The Ascension: Humanity in the Presence of God packs a lot of information into not a lot of space doing so from the Word of God with the express purpose to help the reader understand the importance of the ascension for daily life. If you are a new or mature Christian and haven’t studied the ascension much at all, this book would be a great place to start."Reviewer: Dave Jenkins (bookreviews.servantsofgrace.org)

"I’m so glad to see such a book written about the doctrine of the ascension of Christ for Christians. In my humble opinion, I believe we need to study and understand more about Christ’s ascension before we share with the world about the return of Christ."Reviewer: Daniel Mac (fiveintelligiblewordsblog.blogspot.com)

"I highly recommend this book for all Christians. There’s so few books written about the ascension especially on the level any one could understand. Ascension: Humanity in the Presence of God fills this hole. You won’t find a book that has such a strong right hook in such a little frame (just under one hundred pages)."Reviewer: Matthew Sims (graceforsinners.com)

"This book forced me to do my homework to be able to write this review, for which I’m thankful. Study the kingdom of God with diligence, and know your eschatology. And as a supplement, this is a great book for interaction with this glorious subject if read with a discerning mind, nourished by the Scriptures."Reviewer: Josh Starkey (myborrowedwords.wordpress.com)
