This is a very good book, easy to grab hold of. Parents should put this in front of their children, read it with them and discuss the attributes of God and the sinfulness of man that are always on display. This latter ought remind that none but Jesus does helpless sinners good. Flee to Him. This book shows us the way.

God's Story: A Student's Guide to Church History is an excellent book for an introduction to church history. History, any kind, can be a really great and fun thing to learn if it is written or taught in such a way that makes it fun. Otherwise, I feel like it can be really boring and just memorization. After reading this book I was surprised at how much I could remember. The presentation is not "heady" the information is presented in such a way that you want to continue reading. Really it is like a story instead of a history "book". It gives a fun overview of church history without being boring and filled with dates. I appreciate this book and I wish I would have had it when I was a student!

This book is laid out with chapters that contain a certain period in church history. I enjoyed this because it was a nice book to pick up and read a chapter and set down and pick up again. It has discussion questions at the end of each chapter that really make you think. They are not just the easy questions that you can find in the book. Some of them required some outside research to answer. I enjoy the challenge to think about things and these questions were helpful in that.

To sum up, I really enjoyed this book and I learned a lot as well. I would and have been recommending it to my friends. It is a great book for students, but I also think it is a great book in general for any age group.

I received this book for free from Christian Focus Publications via Cross Focused Reviews for this review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
