David Cook
David has recently retired from his role as Principal and Director of the School of Preaching at Sydney Missionary and Bible College (SMBC). He is now now involved in an itinerant preaching and teaching ministry, He is a Presbyterian minister and a graduate of SMBC and Moore Theological College. Prior to formal studies and pastoral ministry David worked in the Economic Research Department of the Reserve Bank. He has spoken at a number of Christian Conventions including Keswick. David is married to Maxine, and they have five adult children and eight grandchildren.

Inevitably, therefore this is not a comfortable book, but it nevertheless a comforting one, in that while David Cooks insists that we can't just ignore the challenges of Jesus' teaching, he also gives a lot of creative ideas of how we can obey it. Nor does he write from a position of ‘I've got it sorted: now rest of you can catch me up'. He admits to failings and struggles - including the -including the difficulties Christians have in relating to other Christians they don't agree with. This is an excellent book: buy it for yourself and read it."
... Cook says that the one who hears the Word and puts it into practice is wise, while the one who hears does not, in prayerful dependence on God, is self deceived. Are we so familiar with the words of Jesus that we fail to obey His commands? This little book, simply written, is a real challenge to all of us, of whatever age. Let us not rob God of his glory.
