Endorsements
Dale Leschert combines the insights of a scholar with the communicative skills of a pastor-teacher as he guides us through the unfolding message of the New Testament. In so doing, he provides a tool that takes the reader from overview, through detailed outline to a comprehensive, flowing summary of each New Testament book. Here is a study guide which will prove to be a true asset to anyone who wants to engage in serious Bible study, or who is looking for help in preparing to teach the New Testament to others.

. . . should prove a godsend in giving a readable, comprehensive summary of the contents of the New Testament.

Pastors will find particular encouragement from recent works in biblical studies directed to their needs and interest. In The Flow of the New Testament (Mentor) Dale Leschert offers a complete outline of the New Testament, book by book, that offers tremendous insight for expository preaching.

President, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky
.... The strength of the book is that it goes through the whole of the NT and provides a lot of help in understanding the flow of each paragraph and book. While readers will require commentaries on individual books for more detail on individual verses and phrases, this book is very useful for what it sets out to do.

The need to read Scripture in its context is vital if we are to understand it properly, but grasping that whole context is not always easy for those without professional training. In this useful book, Dr. Leschert provides the reader with valuable help in seeing how the New Testament writers develop their themes and teaching. He provides a clear summary of what each book is saying and traces the flow of the writing chapter by chapter. A helpful overview together with a more detailed outline of each book is also supplied. Comments are kept to a minimum and the text is allowed to speak for itself. A fine help to all who want to dig deeper into the books of the New Testament.
Paul Gardner
Senior Minister, Christ Church Presbyterian, Atlanta, Georgia
Dale Leschert has produced a fine book which has as its sole purpose the assisting of readers in acquiring a basic knowledge of the content of the New Testament. Rather than being another book about the New Testament, this book focuses on what the New Testament itself says, with a minimum of interpretation. Very helpful, detailed outlines are provided for each book and they serve as the foundation for carefully written expositions that unfailingly take the reader to the heart of the matter. From working through this book, readers will acquire a sense of the flow the New Testament, just as the title suggests. I know of no book that accomplishes this task as effectively as Dr. Leschert's and am happy to recommend it.
Donald A. Hagner
George Eldon Ladd Professor Emeritus of New Testament, Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California
The wonderful goal of our earliest translators of the Bible into English was to enable ordinary Christians to read the Bible for themselves, in their own English language, in their own copies. Dale Leschert's book continues this same heritage. His desire is to empower ordinary Christians to understand the New Testament. While the modern era has seen the production or many significant interpretative commentaries and other tools for interpreting the New Testament, most of these are too technical and detailed for the average Christian who lacks special training. This situation cannot be consistent with God's purpose of communicating his glorious truth with all people everywhere. Dale Leschert's book is needed to fill a niche where every Christian can begin to understand God's marvelous word, and go on from there, if desired, to more comprehensive sources for interpretation.
