Salvation By Crucifixion
This week we have a number of reviewers participating in a book review blog tour for Salvation By Crucifixion  by Philip G. Ryken. Excerpts from their reviews follow below:

"For the believer this book will fill the soul with joy and thankfulness. For the lost, this book, with the Holy Spirit's power, will open their eyes to the wonder of Christ and their need for a Savior. This is an excellent resource for the church. I highly recommend it!"

"It is something you can read over and over and sit in His glory as you ponder how great a Savior we have in Christ. The chapters are about the necessity, offense, peace, power, triumph, humility, and boast of the cross. You should get this one!"

"Jesus dying on the cross represents him taking the curse of sin on our behalf and the offense of sin. Something to think deeply on that we may see his humanity, deity and humble ourselves to who he is. That is what you find in this short little book. You see Jesus, the cross and the cost of our salvation. May it never become too familiar."

Reviewer: Jeanie Schwagerman (GoodReads.com)

"How is that for a theme? You could hardly think of one more significant! In this slim, yet powerful volume published by Christian Focus, we find a treasure trove of thoughts. Based on sermons from a weekly evangelistic lunchtime outreach in the city of Philadelphia, we can only imagine how special those meetings must have been."

"I give this book 5 stars and I highly recommend it. Go buy this book and read it this year for Holy Week. It will give you a new appreciation for what happened on that cross nearly 2000 years ago."

"Salvation by Crucifixion is a wonderful little book. It’s helpful for preachers and teachers in that it shows what an evangelistic, cross-focused sermon is supposed to look like. It’s an encouragement to Christians everywhere because the gospel is laid bare and the doctrines of salvation are clearly explained. And since the content is evangelistic, it is an excellent resource for outreach. The book is small and short, so one could very easily hand them out while witnessing to others. I recommend having a few on hand for the purpose of distribution."

"Beautifully written and biblically faithful, Dr. Ryken has given us a wonderful book on the cross as a means to understand our glorious salvation. May this book be read by many."

Reviewer: Spencer Cummins (spencerdeancummins.blogspot.com)

"I loved the emphasis on the cross. Every page had something to say about the cross, and clearly defends the idea that the cross is central to Christian life and Christian thinking."

"This is another great resource for believers to engage with non-believers. This is also good for churches to hand during their Easter service. This book will also be a good small group study to go through not just for Easter but any time of the year. I was blessed by this book and highly recommended."

"This is an excellent book. It's biblical, serious and helpful, but gives short chapters that remain deep and interesting, quoting Chamberlain, Cicero, Chrysostom and ... Bertrand Russell among many others... Here we have a well-written and serious book which is of excellent quality but easy to read, just the kind of thing to give to unconvinced friends who need something more than a leaflet to read. Of course, for that you'll have to buy them a printed copy."

"Salvation of Crucifixion is a great book that will stick with you well beyond the last page!"
