Next year we're hoping to publish a sequel to What the Bible Means to Me - entitled How Prayer Impacts Lives. I've just had one of the first contributors getting back to me and had to share this short extract from his article. So this is something that Wallace Benn, Bishop of Lewes says about prayer:
When I look back on my life as a committed Christian (now over 50 years), I am not only thankful for the many prayers wonderfully answered in so many ways but also for some key prayers God did not answer – He had kinder, better or more helpful things in mind for me and my family than I knew or asked for! And even in the hard times we can trust that in the end “all things work together for good” for those who love God (Rom 8:28 ESV). I have had to learn the hard way that what I think is good (the gift of a Ferrari!) is not necessarily in my best interest “to be conformed to the image of His Son” which is God’s ultimate purpose for His redeemed children! (Rom 8:29 ESV).
What the Bible Means to Me: Testimonies of How God's Word impacts Lives is currently available in both print and e-book formats.
